Ghaam.

Solar Co. — Pune, since 2014

How it works · Pricing · Warranty

No surprises is the whole idea.

Solar isn't complicated, but it's easy to make it feel that way. Here's exactly what happens between your first call and your first zero-rupee bill — who shows up, how long it takes, and what it costs.

Prices on this page are what our customers actually paid in the last quarter, GST included.

Left: single-line drawings for a 40 kW society job in Wakad. Right: MC4 connectors going in, Baner.

The process

Five steps. One crew. About a month.

01

You call, or send us a bill on WhatsApp

Tell us your pincode, your roof type and your last electricity bill. We'll tell you straight whether solar makes sense. About one roof in eight that we look at, it doesn't — too much shade, or too little usage — and we'll say so.

Day 0

A rough size & price, same day

02

An engineer visits your roof

Free, and takes about 45 minutes. We measure usable area, map shade from water tanks and neighbouring buildings, check the slab and parapet, and open your distribution board to see what we're working with. For societies, we fly a drone.

Day 1–3

Survey report with photos

03

Drawing, generation estimate, one price

You get a panel layout drawn on your actual roof, a 25-year generation estimate run in PVsyst, and a single fixed price with every brand and model named. No ‘site conditions’ surcharge later. If the price changes after you sign, it's because you changed the job.

Day 4–6

Layout, PVsyst report, fixed quote

04

Installation day

Our own crew of four — not subcontractors. Galvanised structure, panels, inverter, AC/DC distribution boxes, earthing pits and a lightning arrester. A 3–5 kW home system is usually finished by evening. We sweep up, walk you through the app, and leave a laminated single-line drawing by the inverter.

Day 10–14

Commissioning report + monitoring app

05

Net meter, inspection, subsidy

We file with MSEDCL, attend the inspection, and get the bidirectional meter installed. Then we register your system on the PM Surya Ghar portal. The subsidy goes straight to your bank account, usually 30–45 days after commissioning.

Day 18–30

Net meter + up to ₹78,000 back

And after that

Two free cleanings and a health check every year for the first five years. If generation drops more than 10% below the estimate, we come out — you don't have to notice first.

Pricing

What it actually costs.

Four sizes cover about 90% of the homes we do. Every price includes panels, inverter, structure, wiring, earthing, MSEDCL fees, the net meter, the subsidy paperwork and five years of maintenance. GST included. Nothing else to add.

Questions we get every week

The honest answers.

Something else on your mind? Call Rohan on +91 98220 41736 — he's been answering these since 2016.

What happens in the monsoon?

Generation drops to roughly 55–65% of a May day during July and August. Net metering banks the surplus you export from March to May, so most of our customers still see small bills through the rains. Your PVsyst estimate shows month-by-month numbers before you sign.

Do I need batteries?

Not for an on-grid system with net metering — the grid is your battery. Batteries add ₹1.5–3 lakh and take a long time to pay back. If you get frequent outages (common in parts of Satara), we'll suggest a hybrid inverter you can add batteries to later.

Will drilling into my terrace cause leaks?

We use chemical anchors with sealed base plates and a waterproofing coat over every fixing point, then water-test before we leave. Every job carries a 5-year leak guarantee. In ten years we've had eleven leak call-outs, all fixed within 48 hours.

I live in a society flat. Can I still get solar?

Usually not on your own, because the terrace is common property. But the society can install solar for common areas — lifts, pumps, lighting — and get a subsidy of ₹18,000 per kW. We'll come to your committee meeting with numbers.

Can I pay in EMIs?

Yes. Under PM Surya Ghar, nationalised banks offer collateral-free solar loans at around 7% for systems up to 3 kW. We help with the application and the bank pays us directly. Most 3 kW customers end up with an EMI lower than the bill it replaces.

What if Ghaam isn't around in 15 years?

Fair question. Panel and inverter warranties come from the manufacturers and are registered in your name, not ours. You also get the full drawing set and component serial numbers, so any qualified installer can service the system.

Seen enough numbers? Let's look at your roof.

The survey is free, takes 45 minutes, and you'll have a drawing and a fixed price within three working days. No obligation, no follow-up calls unless you ask for one.
